History
Fifty years of practice, one office.
Studio Legale Ballati is based in Pistoia and has been in practice since 1970, the year Franco Ballati was admitted to the Pistoia Bar. From the very beginning, while focusing in particular on leases and condominium law, also as trusted counsel to the Pistoia branch of the tenants' union S.U.N.I.A., he never ruled out the other fields of civil law: from insolvency law, practised also as counsel to numerous bankruptcy estates, to industrial law, through to the more recent field of IT law.
The firm today consists of four lawyers, Franco Ballati, Francesco Ballati, Francesca Marini and Annarita Marino, together with secretarial staff, and is active across the various fields of civil law, with particular experience in leases and condominium, civil liability, commercial and contract law, road accidents, family and employment law, through to company and insolvency law.
With Francesco Ballati, the firm's expertise has extended to business advice, banking and financial law, the internet and new technologies, with a multidisciplinary approach that combines law with technology, IT and finance.

How we work.
Listening and confidentiality
Every matter begins with a meeting in which we listen to the situation as a whole. The relationship with the client is personal and direct, and protected by professional secrecy.
Technical rigour
We study every question with the same care we devote to our books: sources, up-to-date case law and an honest assessment of the prospects, before any action is taken.
In and out of court
Where possible, we prefer a negotiated solution: mediation, assisted negotiation, settlement. Where it is not, we represent the client in court at every level.
Throughout Italy
We act directly or through trusted local correspondents throughout Italy, and offer fellow lawyers local counsel services before the Court of Pistoia.
Technology
Among the first to digitise the profession.
Among the first to grasp the importance of the technological innovations available to professionals, the firm has always adopted the most modern solutions: in the 1980s it was among the first to introduce the fax and first-generation personal computers.
Today every file is fully digitised and managed in the cloud, on an internal network that allows the practice to be monitored from outside. The firm's diary is shared electronically, and relations with public administration and the courts run through the Italian online civil process, on which the firm also sits in an institutional capacity.
The firm has access to the most complete and up-to-date legal databases, integrated into its case management system, and for debt recovery consults the national registers online (Land Registry and Property Register, Companies Register, vehicle register) to verify the solvency of individuals and companies, relying where needed on trusted investigation agencies. All the firm's lawyers have many years of experience in advising and defending clients before every court, including the founder's right of audience before the Court of Cassation.
The office

The office is in the historic centre of Pistoia, a short walk from the courthouse. Clients are received by appointment only, to be arranged by telephone or email.
